SDLC Partners is a nominated finalist for the Pittsburgh Tech Council’s 2020 TECH50 Solution Provider of the Year award in the Services Category.
In its 24th year, Tech 50 is an awards program that honors and recognizes the top 50 member companies of the Pittsburgh Technology Council, across technology-focused industries.
Founder and CEO, Chris Simchick, reflects on this achievement, “On behalf of the entire SDLC Partners team, we are excited and humbled to have our work recognized amongst peers as a Solution Provider of the Year finalist for 2020.
It honors our laser focus on clients’ success in business and technology initiatives. We are proud of our employees, the positive impact they have on our clients, the community initiatives we support, and our continued investment in creating a positive culture.”
SDLC Partners was chosen as a Solution Provider of the Year – Services finalist for 2020, considering how the organization responded to the pandemic with innovation, creativity, and a passion for helping area businesses, college students, and recent grads, including the following initiatives.
Community Skill-Up Program Supports Job Growth & Educational Opportunities for College Students & Recent Graduates: SDLC Partners recognized an opportunity to help college students and recent college grads in the face of expounding economic difficulties impacting job markets and hiring capacities. A team of employees brought the idea forward to create a skill-building program and took the lead in developing this complimentary program with educational and practical courses. These courses provided multi-faceted benefits, allowing individuals to test new areas of interest while learning foundational skills with a career-driven focus.
From July through September, 2020, the courses were taught by SDLC Partners’ own subject matter experts. Course duration ranged from five to 10 days and classes were offered as one- or two-hour sessions each day, including topics like Intro to Agile, Lean Six Sigma Intro, Cybersecurity Fundamentals, Test Automation, Robotic Process Automation (RPA), and Consulting 101.
Helping Regional Businesses Automate in the Face of Pandemic Disruption: SDLC Partners took a novel “Now-Next-New” approach to ensure the organization could maintain business continuity and help clients create innovative solutions to unique needs and disruption caused by the pandemic.
Helping Clients Create As-Needed Solutions: Within just a few days, SDLC Partners developed solutions to address unique challenges posed by COVID-19, including COVID Test Automation, SBA Loan Processing, PPP Loan Forgiveness automation, and a Return-to-Workplace Screening App.
Helping Parents Engage Children During Shelter-in-Place: SDLC Partners created programs to engage employees’ children while they were home from school through several custom-created educational programs, including STEM for Kids, RPA for Bots, TechTalk, and Microsoft training.
“This year’s TECH50 nomination highlights how the pandemic brought out the best in our organization and our people. We saw everyone rally together and quickly pivot to ensure that our clients continued to receive quality services uninterrupted. We not only addressed their unique needs, creating technology solutions, but we helped our employees engage their children while delivering career and skill education to regional job seekers,” stated Scott Barnyak, Founder and Chief Marketing and Sales Officer.
The Pittsburgh Technology Council will announce the Solution Provider of the Year winner during a virtual TECH50 event on Thursday, November 12, 2020.
