Event offers $2,000 First Place Prize Plus Opportunity to Work with Tech Pros
The annual Hackathon event, slated for September 21-22, 2019 at its Solution Center in PPG One, downtown Pittsburgh. The event is geared towards area undergraduate and graduate students across numerous programs of study, including computer science, product design, human centered design, and marketing.
“Our inaugural Hackathon in 2018 hosted 16 teams from three area universities, including students from Carnegie Mellon, University of Pittsburgh, and Duquesne University. This year, we are expending an even bigger event, giving more students an opportunity to dream, create, and begin to build smart solutions,” said Chris Simchick, Co-founder and CEO, SDLC Partners.
Scott Barnyak, co-founder and chief sales and marketing officer, added, “This year’s Hackathon will build on the success of our first year. The students, alongside our SDLC Partners employees will address real-world business, operational, and societal challenges together.”
Competitors will form teams and compete over one and a half days to create usable solutions, competing for prizes, including a First-Place team prize of $2,000.
Solutions can be developed from given business problems, technical challenges and the final product can be a functional tool, prototype, statistical analysis.
Students will have the opportunity to be advised and work with a variety of SDLC Partners employees from varied disciplines like software engineering, business analysis, project management, human centered design, marketing and testing.
