It became evident to the world’s largest industrial auctioneer that a new, user-friendly website solution was required to remain competitive in the market. The client was challenged to create a new, secure, online marketplace for equipment and materials. In order to successfully implement the solution in a timely manner, outside vendors were called upon to collaborate, develop, and launch the new site as market demand required.
The client selected SDLC Partners, along with four other vendors from dispersed geographic locations to assist and manage the project.
Overall project management and QA testing were provided by SDLC resources. Team efficiency was established through utilization of the project methodology SCRUM, which required standards to be established, managed, and monitored.
Technology such as SOA based architecture was used to interact between front-end website and backend systems, Open Source Content Management Framework, and a new messaging layer for alerts and notifications. The final product now allows customers to buy and sell their equipment through the online interface. SDLC Partners helped the client transform from an auctioneer to a solutions company.
